Fairy Godmother uses only strictly necessary cookies and browser storage. We set no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics, and no tracking. Because everything we store is essential to making the service work, no consent banner is required, and you will not see one.

What we store in your browser

Your books and settings (localStorage / IndexedDB): Fairy Godmother is local-first, so your manuscripts, themes and preferences are kept in your own browser until you choose to sync. Removing this storage deletes any unsynced books.
Sign-in state (Firebase Authentication tokens in IndexedDB / localStorage): keeps you signed in between visits so your bookshelf can sync. Essential for accounts to work.
A one-shot reload guard (sessionStorage): prevents a reload loop when the app recovers from a stale cached version. Cleared automatically.

Third parties

Stripe: if you buy the export unlock, the checkout happens on Stripe's own pages, where Stripe sets cookies needed for secure payment and fraud prevention. See the Stripe cookie policy.
Google Fonts: if you tick "embed fonts" during an EPUB export, the chosen fonts are downloaded from Google Fonts at that moment; this is a plain file download, not a tracking cookie.

Managing storage

You can clear cookies and site data for fairy.everafterpress.co.uk at any time in your browser settings. If you do, you will be signed out, and any books that were never synced to the cloud will be removed from that device.
