Terms of Sale & Refund Policy
Last updated: 6 July 2026
1. What you are buying
Using the Fairy Godmother studio to import, format and preview your book is free. The one paid item is the export unlock: a one-time payment of £149 (including any applicable VAT) that permanently unlocks exporting your finished files (store-ready EPUB, print-interior PDF and print cover wrap) on your account. It is digital content supplied without a physical medium; nothing is posted to you. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
2. How the purchase works
Payment is taken by our payment provider, Stripe, through a secure checkout opened from inside the app. The unlock is tied to the Fairy Godmother account you are signed in to when you start the checkout. Always start the checkout from the button inside the app while signed in: that is what links the payment to your account so the unlock can be applied automatically. If you pay through a checkout link obtained any other way, the payment may not be matched to your account automatically; if that happens, email us with your Stripe receipt and account email and we will apply the unlock manually.
3. Your 14-day right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel the purchase of the export unlock within 14 days of the day of purchase, without giving a reason, and receive a full refund.
Losing the right to cancel when you export. The export unlock is digital content. By purchasing it and then using an export (downloading your EPUB, print PDF or cover), you expressly consent to us supplying the digital content immediately, and you acknowledge that once the download or export has begun you lose your right to cancel. In plain terms: you can cancel for a full refund at any time in the first 14 days as long as you have not yet exported a file; once you have exported, the cancellation right no longer applies.
To cancel, email hello@everafterpress.co.uk within the 14-day period with a clear statement that you wish to cancel (for example: "I hereby cancel my purchase of the Fairy Godmother export unlock"), the email address on your account, and your Stripe receipt if you have it. You may use that wording as a model cancellation form.
4. Refund policy
- Within 14 days, not yet exported: full refund, no questions asked. Refunds are made to your original payment method via Stripe, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you tell us you are cancelling.
- After you have exported, or after 14 days: the statutory cancellation right no longer applies and we do not offer change-of-mind refunds, because the product (your finished, exportable files) has been delivered in full.
- Faulty digital content: nothing above affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If the export unlock or the files it produces are faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and if we cannot fix it, to some or all of your money back. Email us and we will put it right.
- Duplicate or mistaken charges: refunded in full, just email us.
Because the studio is free to use in full before you pay, we encourage you to format and preview your entire book first, so you know exactly what the £149 buys before you spend it.
5. Your content stays yours
You keep all rights in your manuscripts, covers and exported books. We claim no ownership of your work and we do not use it for anything except providing the service to you.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the service unlawfully, attempt to bypass the export paywall, resell access to your unlock, or upload content you do not have the right to use. We may suspend accounts that do.
7. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, our total liability in connection with the export unlock is limited to the amount you paid for it. We always recommend you keep your own backup copies of your manuscript.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. As a consumer you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the part of the UK where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts.
